Waller - Head of Chateauroux}14/AP.16.6.37 32-EX. Re. Report on Brakes during London running. Clonks on application and release of the brakes were reported. It was also complained that the car rolled back excessively before the servo took up on the reverse link. These faults have been found to be due to considerable initial stretch in the new brake ropes. The slack was taken out by adjustment of the rods and the system is now as good as standard for freedom from clonks, and the rubber stop in the servo reverse link is working as intended. Such clonks as now occur come from the rear brake bell crank levers, which evidently require rubber cushioning on the stops as on Wraith. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M.
