25/30 HP.
COMPLAINT OF OVER OILING.

G.T.L.34.

The owner of this car has complained bitterly.
I think you will agree that the case warrants it.

First time owner of a Rolls-Royce - Humber previously.

(a) In Depot for steering to be changed.
(b) " " " clutch jaggers.
(c) Five petrol pumps gave out.
(d) Over oiling. In Depot twice, new plugs fitted.
(e) In last week again for same trouble. L. shaped rings fitted.
(d) In again this morning fed up, 4th inst., plugs misfiring due to oil No. 2 & 5, no better results.

I arranged with Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} to ring up the Works and obtain a new cylinder block and pistons. These were promised this morning. (4th inst.) The owner was demanding a new engine. The chauffeur stated that it was a well known fact that R.R. cars were deteriorating, now being chiefly made by boys. All chauffeurs in London are saying the same. (This is the criticism we are getting at Cricklewood) I assured the chauffeur that this was not the case, that the production was as good as ever it was and that the engine in question would be put right choose what it cost.

This is a case where I am positive the cause is due to our finish of cylinder bores, and all our troubles with over oiling, poor consumptions, can be cured by turning out better cylinder bores. The following report on a Bentley will be of value to you and possibly clear up a lot of misleading results.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/G.W.Hancock.

Report attached.
