COPY. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from CJ. CJg/E28/1/24. My dear R.{Sir Henry Royce}, Many thanks for your telegram of the 26th. your letter of the 26th. and your telegram of this morning. I am very concerned to think that you should have all this anxiety when you ought to be resting but I am quite sure that a solution of the EAC.III brake difficulty will be arrived at. In consequence of my memoranda of the 22nd and 24th. as to the desirability of hastening the preparation of the four speed gear box for EAC.IV. Elliott has telephoned this morning that they have now divided the work into four divisions and that the time of the production of drawings will be halved. I fear, however, that, no matter how far the Company concentrates on the production of EAC.IV, we cannot hope to see a trials chassis delivered to the Sales Department by the Works until a week or two before the opening of the Show at Olympia which takes place on the 16th October. Yours ever, CJ. | ||
