It is considered that (a) fire risks are negligible, (b) an accidental start can be avoided by fitting a switch in the push switch circuit, and (c) the practice of removing the accumulator should be continued, because a master switch cannot be fitted between the accumulator and generator. Any further comments you have to put forward, on reviewing the matter, will be appreciated. Meanwhile, although no objection is raised to the employment of the switch you suggest in installations used for your own experimental flying, the application of such switches to D.T.D. prototype, and Service aeroplanes, cannot be agreed. I am, Gentlemen, Your obedient Servant, [Signature: G Rudman] Assistant Director/R.D.E. for Director of Technical Development. [Handwritten note:] We still propose to equip S1436 however. | ||
