contd :- -3- Shutters developed slight rattle, otherwise radiator is O.K. The suspension shews no signs of failure. The top stay has broken four times during the 90 hrs., but the first two of these failures (occurring within 1 hr. 25 mins. from initial start) were probably due to the pins being tightened up too tight on the forks, thus making joints inflexible. STEERING GEAR. No signs of failure up-to-date. ROAD SPRING FAILURE (45" Symmetrical type). Average life - less than the 43 1/2" unequal type. The following figures give an average of four springs in each case. 45" type = 20 hrs. 21 mins. 43 1/2" latest Firths. = 40 hrs. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CP. | ||
