Re Front Axle Pivots.

I do not understand this sheet exactly - am I to understand that our front stub axle will be made of this Vickers' C.H. steel as well as the front axles? This is what I suggest and I am satisfied with the figures given, but I conclude that the materials of those that failed are not C.H.s but only N.B. and not Vickers forgings. I also suggested that a test piece should be taken from the broken ones and from those broken in experimental testing.

At the same time we must increase the section until the piece is twice as strong at least - see the other sheets.

I await Mr. Spinney's drawings of improvements.

We can now get a revolving lathe record of the present piece so that in the future we can easily compare the strength of the different designs and materials.
