x5430 To R H C. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}20/KW.5.12.34. 25 HP. Steering. In our memo, ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}18/KW.26.11.34. we sent instructions for modifications to the steering gear of three chassis, 18-G-IV, CLG-5, and GAW-3. These modifications involved shortening the pendulum lever by 0.650 without correspondingly raising the height of the front end of the side steering tube. This may upset the geometry of the steering slightly and, in order to find out whether this is so, we want the front end of the side steering tube on 18-G-IV to be raised by 0.650 when the shorter pendulum lever is fitted. This can be done by putting a set in the side steering lever so as to raise the ball end by 0.650 without altering its distance from the stub axle pivot. Will you please carry out the above additional alteration on the one chassis. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
