Brocklehurst-Whiston Amalgamated Ltd., 47, Gresham Street, LONDON. E.C. 2. Dear Rothes, I was very glad to hear from you again, and to observe that you are now so important. I wonder whether the silk business is as ex-acting as automobile manufacturing ! Now about your car, the only disadvantage about 'U'Series 25 H.P. is that they do not have centralised chassis lubrication. However, with a man like Bayliss to look after the car, I should not think that this would matter at all. The improvements which were incorporated on the 25 H.P. made after the one you mention, were mostly in the way of refinements, such as, easy brake adjustment, D.W.S. Jacks, Controllable Shock Absorbers, etc. which would not mean a great deal to you. Therefore, unless the chassis has developed some singular fault through mis-use, or neglect, I should think it would suit you very well. I presume that you will get Lee Evans or Bellringer to give it the 'once over' for you before you actually purchase. If, for any reason, there is any difficulty about this, send Bayliss to Derby with it, and we will be pleased to do the job for you in the Experimental Dept. I will certainly follow up Mr. Drayton's P.III chassis if you will let me have the number in due course. As you probably know, Wormald retired in September, and Hives is now running the Works. I believe that if we live through the re-organisation we shall be all the better for it, anyhow, we are full of enthusiasm. Worth is doing all that is necessary for India tyres. | ||
