RE. CAST DASH - INDIA 3. X.5500
X.5530

We send herewith N.sch.2650 shewing certain modifications which it will be necessary to make to the cast dash of 12-G-4. in order that the controls may be placed 6.250" from the centre of the car. This is a necessity as Mr. Royce insists on having a framed patch of instruments on this car.

The distribution box has been moved outwards and downwards and the surrounding pieces have been moved to correspond. The control shaft will pass through the dash almost horizontally.

These modifications had better be made to apply to all cast dashboards, as we shall wish soon to offer a grouped system of instruments as an alternative to our present arrgt.

Owing to lack of detailed information we have not been able to make a complete investigation of the modifications, so we suggest that you look upon N.sch.2650 as indicating a method of treatment, rather than a design.

We are aware that this may be rather short notice to give you for 12-G-4. We suggest that, since we must have the framed instruments on this car, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should patch the dash up temporarily if necessary. 'Sales' have supplied us with a patch of instruments.
