We have asked Derby to send to you the bonnet so that you can attach the moulding and paint it. They will also send you the pot on the rear floor for fitting over the propeller shaft which will enable you to complete the rear floorboards. The front floorboards will be fitted by our Works. The wings will be supplied unpainted and in the case of the front ones only finished as far as is possible without having mounted the body. We wish you to supply with the body the following. (1) Sufficient board, stainless steel angas, and lin-rubber for our Works to make the tool-boxes and steps. (2) A quantity of black cellulose sufficient for them to paint the wings, and valances etc. (3) A small quantity of the Italian Green for touching up purposes. We are sending you herewith a sketch showing the layout of the instrument board, which is exactly the same in general layout as that in use on Phantom 2. Would you please inform the writer as soon as the car is sufficiently nearly finished for him to give it the final inspection, and to test the seats etc. You will have heard from our Sales Dept. concerning the date of delivery, which we wish to be adhered to. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. H.I.F.Evernden. | ||
