EFC1/AD15.2.30. contd. -2- with the inserted resistance is not reached until a relatively high speed between 3000 and 3500 R.P.M. In regard to the question of utilising ballast resistance for this purpose, we are looking into this as it appears that a properly arranged ballast would be a very suitable arrangement. There is also the possibility of using a 6-volt 2 ampere i.e. 12 watt lamp, which is also being looked into and in the meanwhile it is perhaps worth considering whether it would be advantageous in any other respect to use a lamp with a coloured glass to indicate when reduced charge is operative particularly as the field current with inserted resistance would not be greatly varied.
