PEREGRINE STARTER MOTOR.
--------------------

Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD.28.10.32. the proposal to go back to laminated Stalloy pole pieces appears to me to be a doubtful move, as originally we used the laminated pole pieces, but after considerable experiment we were advised to adopt solid pole pieces on the basis that the laminated pole pieces gave very little gain indeed, and further it was very much more costly with a solid pole piece.

I am mentioning this because one would rather have better margin on the machine than be pushed to rather costly pieces to make the smaller machine work.
