CHASSIS ELECTRIC HORNS.

With reference to Cxl2/KW26.4.32, the position is that we are unable to issue a standardisation sheet for this new Lucas HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}722 horn in place of the present standard Klaxon until we have a satisfactory mounting for the same.

Two schemes of mounting the horn underneath the apron are being tried out, the most satisfactory one being on 19-EX now in France. This scheme can also be equally well adapted for the 20/25.

The mounting of the horn is the all important factor from the point of view of acoustic efficiency and we cannot recommend this horn for production until a satisfactory scheme has been tried out.

Upon the satisfactory completion of the 10,000 mile test on 19-EX now in progress we shall be able to definitely recommend for production this high frequency Lucas horn complete with its mounting.

Our tests on 18-GIV have been with the horn mounted on the front cross member which Sales have condemned from the point of view of appearance. The scheme on Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car 58-CN{Mr Chamberain} where the horn was suspended downwards from the front cross member, was unsatisfactory, the horn being too near the number plate.
