Description of the working principles of an apparatus involving jets, throttles, and induction pipes.

The way the apparatus works is as follows :-

When the parts are in the position shown in Figure 1, a small passage way for air will be left around the base of the boss carrying the jet C¹ under the trunk A¹ and over the top of the jet C. When the engine is started up throttle D⁴ will be slightly opened and mixture will be supplied through this passage way and from jet C to the engine. As the throttle D⁴ is further opened the induction pipe depression will become sufficient to lift the trunk member A¹ increasing the supply of air and fuel to the engine through the lower induction pipe.

During this time the jet C¹ will be masked from the air stream and no fuel will be delivered from it and no air will flow through the upper induction pipe. As, however, the throttle control is further moved, the trunk A¹ will lift unmasking jet C¹ opening the upper and larger induction pipe to air from the passage way A, while at the same time throttle valve D³ will begin to open.

By means of this invention a sufficiently large in-duction pipe area can be provided to supply a high speed
