I. 44/30- "GOSHAWK" 11. CONDENSER. SECTION S130.

In connection with the above Condenser please receive herewith one blue print of 1.O.P. D.50585 together with one blue print of each of the following details, will IB. also receive one set.

Regarding D.50577/9/80 for an urgent experimental model these need not necessarily be made in Continental Bakelite and Bakelite Dilecto if the delivery date is too long. Ebonite or Fibre would do for the first model, although we understand from the G.O. that you will shortly receive a large sheet of .062 Continental Bakelite from which these small details can be made.

Regarding D.50575 Condenser Case this appears to be a difficult piece to produce by drawing, and will therefore have a flat bottom sweated to the sides.

The 1.O.P. D.50585 calls for Tin-foil .0005 thick x 2.125 wide and oil silk or paper .0015 thick. 2.325 wide giving a total ribbon thickness of .004 (2 tin-foils and 2 dielectrics). EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} has ordered the necessary quantity of materials.

He has also ordered Oil Silk .002 thick x 2.325 wide, this with the .0005 tin-foil gives a total ribbon thickness of .005.

You will therefore have two Condenser Rolls to make up both of which will fit in the Condenser Case D.50575. The first using .0005 tin-foil and a dielectric .0015 thick and having 43 turns of the fourfold ribbon, each tin-foil and dielectric being 140" long. The second using .0005 tin-foil and a dielectric .002 thick will have 34 turns of the fourfold ribbon, each tin-foil and dielectric being 110" long.

With regard to the method of building the second Condenser Roll (.002 dielectric) it should be noted that the copper foil connectors X and Y should be inserted at the 7th and 7 1/2 turns and at the 21 and 21 1/2 turns. See diagram & Note x Method of building Condenser on D50585

In connection with this Condenser will EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} please receive herewith one print of D.50585 Condenser
