with its improved power, as smooth and silent as the standard car.

BUICK.

We had a closed 8 cyl. Buick with a displacement of 3620 c.c. for comparison. The weight of this car was only 30.7 cwts. We have not been able to obtain details of the gear ratio but with 18" rims it appeared to be lower than ours. Its acceleration was good owing to its low weight, apparently somewhere between the standard 25 HP. and 18.G.IV.

We were unable to check the maximum speed owing to a high speed wobble which developed at 60 M.P.H. and which could not be driven through.

The car was pleasantly smooth at all speeds. It has a c/r of only 4.75.

This car is an interesting example of a low output engine of adequate size (3½ litres) giving a good performance in a much smaller car than our 25 HP. This is the normal american practice and is undoubtedly largely responsible for the sweet running they obtain.
