1235. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.28.3.38. The attached note from Gry{Shadwell Grylls} indicates some of the difficulties we are having due to recommending oils by names in the Instruction Book. We note that from a policy point of view we are closely inter-connected with Wakefields; at the same time, they have given us more trouble than anyone by chopping and changing their oils about without altering the names. We think it is perfectly fair and reasonable to put in the Instruction Book the name of the Oil Company, and after it the viscosity number of the oil only. If we cannot get this agreed to, we do not see any alternative but to refused to accept any responsibility for specifying the oils which are put in the Instruction Book.
