X8900 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. CWB. re. 11-EX. Sales 10,000 Miles Experimental Car. I was rather surprised to learn that this car had been delivered, it being a Sales Car and should therefore have been tested by me prior to delivery. The point only came up by Sales making enquiries from me as to its condition when delivered. I shall be glad if you can make it clear to the Repair Dept. that this is not complying with your original instructions in regard to such matters. The chief matter Sales are enquiring about is in connection with the change gear mechanism. They point out that it has been arranged, and agreed by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, that this car, which has now a "C" steering column, should be fitted with a "B" type change gear mechanism. They point out that this has not yet been fitted, and ask that the Repair Dept. will please arrange for the necessary parts for this to be done to be sent to London, CWB. being advised how soon he may expect same. I now understand from the Repair Dept. that the parts above referred to are being supplied by the Experimental Dept. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
