Dear Sirs,

We are interested in the statistics given in your issue of Nov. 12th. which are much appreciated, but would be grateful if you would be good enough to advise us what is usually included in the 'Shipping Weight', our impression being that this may in some instances be the weight without tyres or battery, plus the packing case, but on check up with the column 'Weight per cubic inch' and 'Displacement' we find the Shipping weight has been taken as the car weight, but on the other hand, working back from the 'Displacement Factor' using the formula given on page 598, it appears that some other weight figure has been employed, as the weight so arrived at does not correspond with the Shipping weight plus 400 lbs.

May we venture to suggest that a column quoting the actual weight with standard body, with gas and oil would be a useful addition?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
