7 Sandringham Court, Maida Vale, LONDON. W.9. July 30th. E.W.Hives, Esq. Dear Sir, I have been in communication with Mr Sidgreaves in London and he has asked me to send on patent specifications in connection with a shock absorber which I have invented. The number of these however is four, three in England and one in Australia, all on the same lines, but in addition I have made two models which would serve to show you the principles involved in only a few minutes. It would be no trouble to me to run up to Derby as I have my car and if you could make an appointment for me I would promise to take up none of your time needlessly, the models showing in a very graphic way the improvements I have made. The outstanding features are -- a control that is responsive to loading only, a second control that is varied only by changes in the road surface, and what is, of course, of paramount importance, remarkable simplicity in construction, while the absorber remains a very robust one. Trusting to hear from you at your earliest convenience, Faithfully yours, Richard Ebsworth. | ||
