WALTER G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} KENT, CHAIRMAN AND MANAGING DIRECTOR. Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd., X4323 14, Conduit Street, W. For the attention of R.{Sir Henry Royce} W. Spinney, Esq. Dear Sir, re: CLear View Screen - Your Order No. 47952. Further to our telephone conversation of to-day, and with reference to your letter of the 3rd. inst., enclosing particulars of the wind-screen to which the above Clear View Screen is to be fitted, we find that the latter will be a little too large to fit your wind-screen. On thinking the matter over, there appear to be three alternatives :- (1). For you to put a slightly deeper wind-screen on your car. (2). To alter your wind-screen by putting a small metal piece on in one place, so that it will take a Detachable Type Screen. (3). That we should supply you with a Permanent Type Screen with a small size disc. We enclose herewith sketches illustrating the second and third alternatives. The top sketch shows the way the wind-screen would have to be altered to take a Detachable Type Screen, that is, the top rail of the wind-screen would have to be cut back in one place, and a small segment plate fixed on flush with the face of the main glass to take the Handwritten text: B.S. Can you please ask Exp. Dept. to let us have their views in respect of this: in the meantime please order one sample for trial. 21 | ||
