R.R. 493A (50m) (D.B. 175 25-9-24) J.H.D. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. X8940 REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG12.6.25. To AJS. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FABRIC COUPLING FOR EAC. 48305 The fabric coupling which has run successfully on 93-NK car in France is the thickened up fabric of the original type. The alteration which is made is that when riveting the plates a bolt is inserted and screwed up tightly in order to compress the fabric the same degree as it will be when put into the car. We are testing on the original test rig, using the flywheel, a coupling made to LeC.2054. It has run 90 hrs. It has not run sufficiently long for us to be able to say whether it is any advantage over the present one. The new rig to LeC.2059 is not yet completed. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}! | ||
