Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} F.{Mr Friese} Dodd. P 1160 To C. from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}BY. Wind Noises. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/El.2.38 Referring to the attached, as Chairman of the C.S.C. I should like you to accept responsibility for seeing that these recommendations are carried out as closely as possible. I want, however, to go further than this. It is felt at Derby - and I think it is true - that a good deal of work is done under this sort of heading, circularised to the coachbuilders, and then in a few months' time everybody forgets all about it and we slide back to where we were. I am, therefore, very anxious that you should have detailed out exactly what recommendations we can apply, and then have a quarterly note to all concerned, i.e. the coachbuilders and our own testers, to remind them to see that these instructions are carried out.
