- 4 - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} One of the customers was Breedon. For the past four years we have not had any failures of this kind in chrs which we have handled in the experimental department. We should suspect poor lubricant, but the rest of the engines were in excellent condition. All our big end bearings are still A.C.9. and in case this may prove to be treacherous, we are running an alternative on some cars. Manufacture of Pieces for Test. The pattern to make the full alternative range of 6-cylinder engines from three to four and three quarter litre engines is now complete and castings are being taken off it. If we can get any of these machined, we shall be able to get invaluable running experience on power plants having alternative treasury ratings. We really require very little except these blocks as the rest of the rationalised parts to make these engines, already exist. Instructions for the aluminium engine are now completed. JUNIOR RATIONALISED RANGE. Myth. Instructions for building a Myth chassis with a Morris gearbox and Salisbury axle are now complete. Park Wards have made considerable progress with the frame, pieces of which can be inspected at the Clan Foundry. Ward has a considerable amount of information to enable him to proceed with the body, but there is still a considerable amount of detail drawing required on features such as wings. This is going along as fast as can be expected with the two draughtsmen on the job. We are succeeding in getting co-operation from Smith's, Lucas's and Wilmot-Breedon on Instruments, Lamps and Hardware, so that these items will not hold the completion of the body. Considering the armament programme, it is encouraging that these people are determined to help us. -Continued- | ||
