Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T21.4.21. X.4215 - BLERIOT PHI CUTOUTS. The four Bleriot Phi cutouts which we recently received back from the makers supposed to be adjusted to our specification are no more satisfactory to us than previously. We find that two of these cut in much too late and one in which the auxiliary contact is never on and one in which the auxiliary contact is never off. We do not think these have been readjusted by a responsible individual. The appearance of two of the instruments which are unsealed is that the working parts have been bent about in order to secure numerically correct operation, resulting in the fact that the mechanism is not correct, and we are sure that this is not as the original makers intended. It is of no use Bleriot sending us back patched up jobs like this. What we want is some more instruments like the first received, which were undoubtedly good and worked very accurately and definitely, and very nearly in accordance with our specification. As regards the report from France of the Bleriot Phi cutout in answer to our specification, we have now received this from you and we are going carefully into this and will as soon as convenient issue an answer as to our reasons for the figures in our specification, from which at the moment we see no reason to depart. Their report will be carefully considered. Also in the meanwhile during my Contd... | ||
