FRONT AXLES FOR 10 H P CARS
ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
INSTRUCTIONS.
SPECIAL
No. 9 / 1913
To Mr Wormald & Mr Royce
Order No. Reply to R4/P10.9.13
Customer's No. 875
Dwgs. 28 & 132 herewith
The front axle of the late type 2 cylinder car No 20157 used by Mr Royce on T. dwg 132.
At Blamire's the Derby shops can have fitted with forged axle dwg 28. A light type press'g was used.
I would suggest that the tubular axle be retained on the cars to be altered, as their appearance is so much different with that of sheet timber on sections but in the majority of cases we have no records of them.
As some of the 10 H P cars requiring altering have not been to the works for many years. & we are not sure how they were made.
Some of these have changed hands (some present ownerships are unknown).
Signed A.P. Chandler.
This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work.
