X.4040 EFC. PD.35. Jan. 11th 1929. X.7660 X.4040 GREEN LAMP SWITCH. AND DYNAMO TESTS. Some tests have recently been made on car 20-EX the objects being to check the performance of the green lamp switch, and to try the effect on the output of the dynamo, of running the engine backwards. The tests were made with the car standing. Green lamp switch SS.{S. Smith}3. With the switch in a warm condition, the volts required to operate it, measured between terminal B on the distribution board and earth were first test. 16.95 volts second test 17.00 " Dynamo SS{S. Smith}2. The peak output of the dynamo, (running on magneto only) was observed to be 12.0 amperes, at 16.8 volts, and at a temperature of between 45 and 55°C. The volts were measured between terminal B on the distribution board and earth. After running the engine backwards, the peak output was observed to be 11.75 amperes at 16.5 volts, i.e. there was practically no difference in the output, shewing that brush bedding had not been affected.
