We received your wire this morning, pointing out the urgency of the above and asking when it could be re-delivered.

We regret we have not telegraphed you in reply, but it was only late this afternoon and after consultation with the Experimental Dept. and the Production Test Dept. that we have been able to collect the necessary information to enable us to reply

The position is that there is no definite cure for the complaint of transmission drive groans for which this car was returned. The Production Test Dept. state that they are tackling the car and doing the best they know with the material and knowledge at present available, and they hope to pass the car over to me for re-test towards the end of the week.

Unless I hear from CWB in the meantime, I shall pass this car for delivery, providing the Experimental Dept. and Production Test Dept. state that the car is the best they know how to make it.
