ITEM. DESIGN POSITION.

SINGLE CYLINDER AND GENERAL RESEARCH.- CONTINUED:-

Merlin "C" single cylinder unit - Increased radius between exhaust valve seats. Completed 22.1.36.
Kestrel single cylinder unit - 10 to 1 compression ratio piston. " 13.1.36.
Bentley six cylinder conversion unit - cylinder head and overhead camshaft drive. Completed.

KESTREL ENGINE.

Adaptation of R.R.airscrew hub to take Schwarz blades. In hand.
Adaptation of Hamilton V.P.airscrew for test fan purposes. Completed 6.1.36.
Modification to Vee serration airscrew shaft - Hamilton. " 21.1.36.

MERLIN "E" ENGINE.

Mod.to cylinder block to improve rigidity between the cylinder bores. Completed 1.1.36
Modified coolant return pipe to suit Fairey F.4/34 aircraft. Completed 15.1.36.
Modification to generator oil pump drive. Completed 3.1.36.
Oil pressure connection to oil tank to suit Fairey and Supermarine installations. Completed 16.1.36.
