To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. 1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/AP.4.5.37 We want to observe comparative corrosion of water jackets etc. on several cars in the Experimental Garage and in order to do this we must ensure that the water in the system is not changed. Will you therefore have two dozen aluminium labels made stamped as follows 'This car is under observation for corrosion of water system - if water is removed it must be retained together with any corrosion product and replaced in system". These labels will be affixed to the drain cock in the case of Bentley and 25/30 and to the radiator filter and drain cock in case of Wraith and Ph.III. cars, and we should like you to instruct that these instructions are followed if water is removed from a car in the Shop.
