STEERING WOBBLES. +457

On all Phantom cars which have been tested in France, steering wobbles have been experienced and reported upon. This information was given in our copies of the reports sent to you.

A series of tests were made in France which proved that with the wheels in balance, they had no instances of steering wobbles.

On the tests with the Silver Ghost (40/50 HP. fitted with 4-wheel brakes) although no definite high speed wobble was experienced fitted with standard tyres, tests were made with low pressure tyres which brought up the wobble. It was chiefly because of this that the use of low pressure tyres on the front wheels were strongly opposed.

We attach herewith experimental report ref. Hsl/LG20.4.25 which shows that we reported upon the risk of high speed wobbles. Since then the out-of-balance of tyres has increased the risk.
