X5660 To Sft{Mr Swift}/Mr. Brock. EFC5/T30.5.27. 20 HP. DYNAMOS. Nos. 702,1143,665, 1025 With reference to the noisy dynamos referred to on your sheet dated 15.12.26, herewith we return these to you. After making various tests and considering the whole matter we must say that we do not know of any method of silencing these, simpler than the modification which is at present being carried out by you in the case of some of the standard machines. More fundamental Standardised modifications are being tried for both 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. machines which show very good prospect of overcoming this noise trouble. A 28 slot armature has been tried in each of these above machines and in each case the result has been an apparently satisfactory reduction of the noise. This, however, is the more fundamental modification referred to. EFC. | ||
