To Ry. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} ORIGINAL R2/B19:5:17. D 22 MAY 1917 3 c. to J c. to EH. RECEIVED X.2750 Re Articulated Rod Pin. I do not think it is worth while to alter the articulated rod pin unless Mr. Hives demonstrates that it is necessary. I would like him to test it without the groove in the pin, which I fear is a source of weakness that may cause us trouble sooner or later. It would appear that the conical end is the one that would collapse first. This could be reinforced either by making the metal thicker, or by making the washer that fits inside a very close fit. Your description is very clear, and I thank you for it. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
