Re: CHASSIS B.19.DK - Mr. FERENCZI
---------------------------
(Total mileage 38.396 Kms.)

For your information, we have dismantled the lower halves of all the main bearings of the above car and find them to be in a very good condition, which I think tends to prove that this owner handles his car very carefully.

We have carried out a chalk test by immersing the bearings in paraffin heated to 90-100°, dried them carefully and then dipped them in French chalk. The above test did not show up any cracks.

On two of the lower halves of the bearings, however, there was a slight loss of metal near the edges. We have filled these in withwhite metal.

Owing to the very good condition of the main bearings, we find that it will not be necessary to change them and, unless we hear from you to the contrary, we are going to reduce the liners from .0015" to .002", so as to take up any existing play.

We are fitting new connecting tods with latest type Hall's metal bearings, because as you are aware the bearings of the existing rods are in a very poor condition.
