X5005 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c.c. E.W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HHC. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/HP.11.7.34. Flexible Rear Engine Mounting. - 20/25 and Bentley. We understand that it is desired to move the sheet metal crossmember .100 further to the rear than shewn on the LeC.3909 in order to give clearance for the reverse cover studs. This would result in shortening the propeller .100 more than is called for on N.Sch. 4122. It is suggested on N. Sch.4130 herewith that a better way would be to provide the necessary clearance by drilling holes in the sheet metal and reducing the thickness of the reverse shaft cover as can now be done.
