X26281 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to EFC. By5/P16.6.20. X.3483. CHASSIS - REAR SPRINGS X.2628.b RE LUBRICATING OF INTERLEAVING MATERIAL. I have made certain suggestions to Mr. Herbert Frood with reference to the possibility of incorporating graphite in the thread from which he pro- duces his material for the interleaving and have made it quite plain to him that we consider the addition of lubricants on the surface of the interleaving is a very poor scheme, generally speaking. He has supplied two tins of lubricant which are supposed to have special properties, and which will adhere to the ferodo much better than graphite or any type of grease. He states that they do not consider that by treating the yarn before weaving they would obtain any more graphite actually in the body of the material then they do at present, it being always understood that they can only incorporate dry graphite. The tins of material in question have been supplied free of charge, and can be applied or not, just at your own discretion. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
