Contd. -2- HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/LCS.7.21. ********** It will be noticed that changing the axle parts from 16 X 52 to 14 X 52 we get nearly the same advantage in cutting-in earlier as we do if we fit the 1" longer dynamo on to a car with 16 X 52 ratio. Our opinion is that the dynamo on the 40/50 chassis should cut in at 10 M.P.H. We consider the early cutting-in speed is more essential on our cars than any other because they are run more on top gear low engine speeds. If, however, we have any of the standard Lucas dynamos left on our hands, they could be fitted to cars with 14 X 52 axles. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
