Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/MA.2. 3. 32. X4482 REVERSE GEAR - ALFA ROMEO. Replying to your Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M.29.2.32, we are sending you a sketch of the Alfa gear trains. You will notice that the sliding pinions are all on 3rd motion shaft. In our box the 1st and 2nd pinion slides on the 2nd motion shaft. The Alfa reverse gear engages with the 3rd speed 2nd motion wheel and the 1st speed 3rd motion gear. The reverse shaft does not rotate therefore in any of the forward gears. We will carry out a test of many changes into 1st speed on the synchromesh and let you know the result. wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} ok. recd. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.Grylls. | ||
