| SECRET. TO DR. FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} COPY TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DAY-STN. [Struck through] RE SECOND BODY FOR L.H. CHASSIS? We send herewith N.Sch.3069 & N.Sch.3070, showing the designs of the Enclosed Limousine for the second experimental car for R.R.A.I. Prints of these have been in the hands of the coachbuilders for over a week, and they are unable to go ahead until they receive a detail of the subframe side member which we hoped to receive a week ago. We shall be ready for the subframe by this weekend and unless we are able to keep the coachbuilders going continuously we shall not be able to deliver the body on May 18th. We would like you to go into the matter of the arrangement of the instrument board for these cars as soon as possible so that we can arrange for the coachbuilder fit up an uncut and unshaped board in the scuttle before delivering the body, so that all the fixings of the board will be made.
