Handwritten note: Let me know when these batteries arrive Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the writer's visit to you on Thursday last the 25th February, we confirm herewith the various matters which were discussed.

1. As a result of the recent institution of cold starting tests carried out in a cold chamber at 8° F, we will effect certain modifications to the batteries which we supply to you with a view to improving the starting effort at extremely low temperatures. This improvement will be incorporated in two 6-HZD11-G batteries which we shall shortly send to you for test purposes.

The 6-HZD11-G is your new type DW.559 which you have now decided to use in future on all 25/30 H.P. Rolls Royce cars, and it has a reversed layout of terminals as compared with the original 6-HZD11-S type. This modification in layout has been made at the request of Mr. Davis.

2. We will obtain a Delco 6 volt 15-T9 battery, rated at 120 ampere hours and weighing 40 lbs., so that we can confirm the weight and capacity details, and also let you have our report as to its general construction and estimated life etc.

3. We will prepare high rate discharge curves, similar to the one shown to Mr. Child, for all the batteries which we supply to you but there will be some little delay in preparing these curves as we wish to obtain new high rate figures on batteries which have had incorporated the improvements mentioned in paragraph 1.

Yours faithfully,

PETO & RADFORD.

E.S. Chapman
