Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. 6th April, 1934. FOR THE ATTENTION OF -. GRYLL ESQ: Dear Sirs, BEARINGS FOR REAR AXLE BEVEL PINION With reference to Mr. Hickling's recent visit, and discussion regarding the above, we were pleased to have the opportunity of examining the latest bearing which had run for 20,000 miles, and are confident that the results obtained indicate very clearly that the design of bearing put forward by ourselves, together with the method of mounting, is such as to give the necessary serviceability. As promised during our visit, we give below a resume of the tests which we have carried out on our test rig, which in conjunction with the data on the road tests provides a complete review of the position. FIRST TEST : Our standard MDJT.30 was used for this, the mounting being as recommended by ourselves, viz: one | ||
