With reference to the experimental parts which it is proposed to fit to your new car, we think that it will be wiser and more satisfactory to let the chassis be completed and delivered to the coachbuilders in the ordinary way as a standard chassis. The Experimental parts we think, should be fitted afterwards. Our reasons are, primarily that all the proposed modifications although they have been tried out in experimental form, are not yet made in a form which could be used on production; e.g. existing gear boxes have been modified to suit an experimental department produced form of silent 2nd. speed gear, whereas the production version will be different in many respects; we think your car should have the proposed production methods. Secondly all the proposed modifications will be visible on the chassis and we do not think it wise for them to be on view in the coachbuilders Works. We think that we shall have all the parts ready to put on the chassis by the time that the body is fitted. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
