Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Attention of Mr. C. S. Steadman. Dear Sirs, Further to yours of the 28th April, Ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.l/MH.{M. Huckerby}, and in regard to the sample Thermometer DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1360 returned, which you state failed shortly after being put on test, we would advise you that after subjecting this instrument to extensive tests our engineers report that it is found to be entirely satisfactory. Dealing with the queries raised in your letter we reply as follows:- 1. We are in a position to standardise this small capillary on any instruments to design D.75953. 2. The extra cost involved, owing to the slower process of filling the instrument, plus the actual cost of material, is 1/9d. each. 3. We can give delivery subject to two month's notice. | ||
