Dear Sir,

We are in receipt of your letter regarding the installation on one of our 6-cylinder engines in your motor boat.

From the number given, 2349, this is a 1913 model 40/50 H.P. engine.

The power given by this engine under full throttle conditions are as follows:-

Revs/min. Horse Power.
500 - 24
1000 - 42
1500 - 55
1750 - 55

The drive should be arranged so that the engine does not exceed 1750 R.P.M. under any conditions. We would say that the most economical conditions regarding the petrol consumption would be at about ¾ throttle running at about 1500 revs/min.

Hoping this fulfils the information you require.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
