X8992 RESTAURANT. OCTODON, LE-CANADEL, PAR. LE LAVANDOU. (VAR.) FRANCE. 19. 2. 26. MR. HIVES. FROM. T. DODD. The slight tackiness in the Steering on 7.EX. is not of the type we experienced when this steering was first tried. One cannot feel any lightness viz the steering when turning the steering wheel on either lock with the wheels on the ground, and with both wheels jacked up the steering wheel can be spun round quite freely from one lock to the other. I have kept the pivots well lubricated, and have oiled them after jacking up car. This 'tackiness' can be observed to the best advantage when the car is travelling along a flat piece of road. When turning a bend on the left lock the steering instead of self-centring on its own tends to follow round until checked. it will then self centre. When descending mountainous roads the steering functions quite ok, and is ok at all times on the right lock. This 'tackiness' is only slight and does not worry one very much when driving. Yours faithfully, T. Dodd. | ||
