not like to commit myself by saying that they are better than our present arrangement. They certainly ride very nicely and may be better than standard but I would rather defer my verdict until we have had a fair amount of experience with them with the proper body fitted. I have not noticed any ill effect from them however and they seem quite stable when turning and when taking potholes. The springs have not got the split rear half at present but we will have them split if Mr Royce thinks this should be done. I find that the single split is quite enough on standard springs. We have some with two splits but these are rather too flexible as they give a peculiar feeling of instability to the back of the car although they are apparently strong enough, as they have stood up to very rough use over several thousands of miles. LIGHTENED BACK AXLE.

We have lightened the axle to your suggestions by removing bearings from the torque tube also by drilling where possible. I do hot think the benefit derived is noticeable but there must be some advantage and this may be appreciated with longer use.

LONGER TORQUE TUBE.

The same remarks as apply to the lightened axle apply to this improvement. I cannot definitely say that the
