Dear Sir, We have examined the failed valves which you have sent for our inspection and are of the opinion that the trouble can be attributed to the following reasons - (1) That the section of the valve to which you apply the Stellite renders the valve weak at this point as illustrated in the sketch - <-- Stellite. Weak valve section. You will see from the drawing of our Bentley valve which we enclosed in our letter of the 20th. the type of section before Stelliting which has proved satisfactory and approximately as follows - <-- Stellite.
