Fitting heavier brake drums with deeper ribs to model 5-B-IV to combat high temperatures.

Brake Drums for 5-B-IV.

The results we have obtained on 3-B-IV show that we get very high temperatures of the rear brakes. We should like to fit to 5-B-IV some heavier drums with deeper ribs as shown on the attached sketch.

The front drums with deeper ribs on 3-B-IV are less spongy but still let water in. We should like therefore to try the Alfa Romeo scheme. The drums can be made from the same castings, EX.15580, as used on 3-B-IV, since the 4º axle requires the narrower drums. Will you therefore please machine the castings accordingly.
