Querying design specifications for the LH Silver Phantom Chassis, specifically regarding the rear axles and brakes.

Engineer} 1015 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH 3/ 13.4.40. LH{Mr Haworth} Silver Phantom Chassis Rear Axles and Rear and Front Brakes. We shall shortly be issueing instructions to cover the above. In connection with these items, the following designs have been recently received:- PL 142/8 Self Seal Bearings for Rear Axle. PL 123 Parallel Roller Bearings - RH{R. Hollingworth} Differential. PL 128 Welded on Spring Seats. Two-Rib Brake Drums, with .104 thick Back Plates, to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 8/MH{M. Huckerby} 19.3.40. On the draft specification for LH{Mr Haworth} Silver Phantom, no reference is made to these designs, and as a point of order, we are querying whether it is intended to ignore these schemes, and to incorporate the items called for on the specification which are as follows:- Rear Axle- 11/41 ratio-Semi Floating, with Perfect Oil Seals, 45 m/m Half Shafts-unmachined. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} to get Sealed Bearings for Half Shafts. Generally to GCD 1483. Brake Drums- Steel Shoes and C.I. Drums, with Linings as on 33G7. Simplified Front Hub to PD 240. We would also point out that no mention is made on the specification of the Gordon Armstrong Rear Shock Damper to PL's 97. 107, and 145. The RR. Damper as fitted to 33G7 is at present quoted.
