PHANTOM III. RE: POSSIBILITY OF PRODUCING A CAR WITH SUFFICIENT IMPROVEMENTS TO JUSTIFY A 15,000 MILE TEST, TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1ST.

Referring to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/R.3.3.38. I have gone carefully over the points enumerated, but am certain that the Design and Detail Departments of the D.O. cannot produce the drawings required within the period specified viz. by April 20th. To do this would necessitate holding up the production of general arrangement drawings for the Wraith.

The Works necessity for arrangement drawings is of the first order, and the D.O. have to give these preference.

The earliest that it will be possible for the production D.O. to handle any major issues like P.lll as outlined in your memo quoted above will be two months from date, which would make it too late for the 1st. September. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
